Welcome to Canine Connect a Care Rescue

Putting Paws in Caring Hands
Foster families are our lifeblood! Since we do not have a shelter,  foster care is crucial to our rescue work and the well-being of our dogs. Most of the dogs that come into our care are in desperate need so it is important to give them as much comfort and security as possible. A foster family provides these precious dogs with a temporary home where he/she can feel like a valued family member. Foster homes not only spare them from the stress of confinement in a cage in a shelter/boarding facility, but also provide a loving home environment and adequate socialization, making each dog a great contender
for adoption. Our dogs remain in foster homes until adoption – without foster families - we have no choice but to place our dogs in a boarding kennel.

If you make the wonderful decision to adopt, you will be asked to pay a nominal fee. Adoption fees pale in comparison to the amount of time, money and resources CCACR has already spent on routine and emergency medical treatment, housing and food.

Visit our Adopting page to learn more about the process before you apply.

If you would like to volunteer your time or any special skills or talents you possess to CCACR please complete this application here: volunteer application or contact us to find out about other volunteering opportunities.  Visit our How Can I Help page to learn more about donating or volunteering.

We are a private rescue group comprised of volunteers committed to helping dogs in need regardless of breed or place of birth through provisions of interim care and arrangement of adoption.

We are devoted to the rescue, rehabilitation and placement of abandoned, abused and unwanted dogs that presently reside, through no fault of their own, in kill shelters throughout Canada and United States. Whenever possible, we also assist dogs that, because of extenuating circumstances, are unable to remain in their homes with their owners.

Canine Connect a Care aspires to a society in which dogs are accorded the right to life, and are recognized as beings with innate emotions and feelings that have the unconditional right to protection under the Criminal Code, veterinary treatment and care, nutritious food, training, a life long home complete with respect and love.

We work towards this end by:

  • Advocating for canine rights and privilege
  • Alleviating suffering by providing veterinary care and shelter in an established foster home program
  • Educate the public through community networking, seminars, and workshops regarding health care and owners’ responsibility concerning spaying and nutering
